# VPN protocols

TunnelHQ supports 11 VPN protocols. Each check connects the way a real client does, so a healthy result means the tunnel came up.

| [VLESS, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks, Hysteria2, TUIC](/docs/protocols/v2ray-xray/) | V2ray/Xray | A connection URL (share link) |
| [AmneziaWG](/docs/protocols/amneziawg/) | Obfuscated | An AmneziaWG config |
| [OpenConnect](/docs/protocols/openconnect/) | Obfuscated | A name, a host, a username, and a password |

The groups are the same as in the protocol picker when you add a monitor.

## Filling in the fields

When you [add a monitor](/docs/concepts/monitors/), paste a config or share link and TunnelHQ detects the protocol and fills in the fields. Or click **Enter details manually**, choose a protocol, and enter them yourself. Required fields must be set before you can save.

:::tip[Not sure which fields you need?]
If you have a config file or share link, paste it into **Add monitor** or [Import monitors](/docs/import/) and let detection fill in the fields. It's the most reliable way to get every field right.
